An invitation to all Montana librarians...
Please consider joining other libraries around the state in celebrating libraries and collecting comments and stories to highlight “a week in the life of libraries.” This year we have made a few adjustments to make Library Week even more fun. Instead of being a single day, we have simplified the data collection process and dedicated a week to the event. We will also hold our popular Treasure Hunt for the Treasure State contest during the week to assist you in creating excitement at your libraries.
What is Montana Library Week?
You will be asked to collect comments or stories and photos (only). (See the Data Entry/Image Submission instructions.) Our very short survey will be available for library users so they can tell the world why they love their library. You will still have the ability to submit comments and stories on behalf of your libraries, but the need to collect usage types is gone this year.
We will also be holding our popular Treasure Hunt for the Treasure State contest to complement your Library Week activities. Visit http://mymontanalibrary.org/Treasure/ for more information.
How will this information be used?
This information will be shared with patrons, government officials, library trustees, and others in effort to explain why libraries make a difference in the lives of Montanans. Results will be posted at http://msl.mt.gov/LibraryWeek/results/default.asp.
How do I submit my information?
Please see the Patron Comments and Photo Submission Instructions for directions on how to submit your information. The deadline for data entry is October 13, 2012.
(NOTE: Please remember to have your patrons sign the photo/video release form.)
