5/5/2009 The 2008 Collection Management Honor Roll was announced at the MLA awards luncheon in Kalispell. During the luncheon, 77 libraries were recognized by State Librarian Darlene Staffeldt for dedication to sharing resources in the state. 4/20/2009 Certification Update More than 150 online survey responses have been received so far concerning continuing education and the Montana Library Certification Program update. Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to give us input. If you haven’t had a chance to share your ideas and comments, the survey will be available until May 31, 2009. We’ve put together a list of FAQs with responses to some of the questions MT librarians, support staff, and trustees have been asking about the certification update. If you are attending MLA in Kalispell, there will be a certification session on Thursday, April 23rd, 3:30-5:00. 3/20/2009 Montana State Library and the Certification Update Focus Group are seeking input from Montana librarians and trustees on continuing education and the library certification program. To collect this input, a short survey has been posted on the MSL website for library managers, library staff, and board members. Survey responses will be used to improve the certification program and determine ways MSL can assist Montana librarians and trustees to achieve certification. 7/15/2008 Montanalibraries.org is replaced by Mymontanalibrary.org. Librarians and customers have had a chance to test out the new mymontanalibrary.org site. Based on feedback from library staff, we have made some changes that will hopefully improve the website. We are going to continue updating and improving the site as we go along. In light of all our changes, we have redirected montanalibraries.org to mymontanalibrary.org. We hope you will enjoy this new site. And do not worry, the Information Cowboy will continue to live on as the logo for our new website.
