Celebrate Montana Library Week with the Montana State Library
Highlights Include Online Fun and Prizes
(HELENA) --- The Montana State Library invites all Montanans to celebrate Montana Library Week from September 23 to September 29, 2012 by playing an online game. A statewide scavenger hunt, called "A Treasure Hunt for the Treasure State," will be held for Montanans from Alzada to Zortman to play and win prizes. People can access the scavenger hunt online – anywhere, anytime – just like most library resources.
The "Treasure Hunt" questions can be found at your local library’s Web site or at http://mymontanalibrary.org. Participants will find the answers by using the library electronic resources available online. All answers must be submitted electronically and will be verified for correctness, as well as for the library resources used.
There will be four separate contest categories with questions of varying difficulty available for students K-5, middle school, high school, and adult age groups. New questions will be posted every day of Montana Library Week. Montana participants will submit their answers via an online submission form for verification.
Winners will be announced by October 31, 2012. Statewide prizes include six Apple iPods™, which will be presented to two winners each in the middle school, high school, and adult categories. Two pizza parties and $200 gift certificates for books will be provided for the winning elementary school classrooms.
All of the "Treasure Hunt" answers can be found through the electronic resources offered by participating Montana libraries. These online library resources are provided for all Montana residents through funding from the Montana State Legislature and the Governor of Montana. Prizes for the contest are provided by EBSCO, the vendor that provides the electronic resources used for the "Treasure Hunt for the Treasure State".
To play "A Treasure Hunt for the Treasure State," be sure to visit your local library’s Web site or http://mymontanalibrary.org for clues starting Sunday, September 23, 2012.
