Cross-MSDI Relationships

The Wetlands database relates to the following other MSDI framework themes:

• Hydrography – use the NHD to identify stream flow permanence  and the location of hydrologic features such as springs

• Soils – refined the SSURGO dataset to identify potential wetlands soils to improve mapping accuracy.

• Imagery – the 4-band NAIP is the base imagery used to create the Wetlands Framework. We map to the most current image year available but use previous image years to inform the mapping and improve mapping accuracy.

• Elevation – used to identify landscape position and topography to identify wetlands/riparian areas.
