1:24,000 Scale Topographic Map Images (1998)
These are images of U.S. Geological Survey topographic maps that we received in 1998. The files have not been updated since that time, and many of the maps are more than 30 years old. For the latest USGS topographic map products, please see the USGS TopoView Site.
Two files are available for each quadrangle. One is the original Digital Raster Graphic (DRG) UTM-coordinate image from the U.S. Geological Survey. This image includes the margins around the map, with the map name, map date, survey date, scalebars, and other information. The other file is an image in Montana State Plane coordinates that has had the marginal information clipped away.
Zoom to your area of interest on the map below and the quadrangle boundaries will appear. Click on a quadrangle to bring up links to download the maps.
Some of these images have white edges that make it difficult to display adjacent quadrangles together. Scripts are available for the following programs to make these edges transparent:
