Library Development

Introduction

The Montana State Library provides continuing education, consulting, programming, and consortial services to libraries across Montana. Monies received each year from the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grant program administered by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), a federal agency, enable the State Library to fund library development services. State funding is also provided to enable advocacy work and training for libraries. The Network Advisory Council, comprised of librarians from around the state, advises State Library staff on library development services.
