Cardiovascular Health and Stroke

Cardiovascular health is all about your heart and blood vessels. Cardiovascular health is an important concern for all Montanans. In 2021 – the most recent year that data are available – 31% of all Montanans had high blood pressure and 31% had high cholesterol.
Both high blood pressure and high cholesterol can lead to more difficult illnesses, reduced quality of life, and a shorter lifespan.
Below are some links to useful resources to help your patrons understand and perhaps gain some control over high blood pressure. There are also many downloadable pdfs
(colorful and from reputable resources) that can provide further information.
Cardiovascular health and stroke-related awareness and promotion months include:

February: American Heart Month
February 7: Go Red for Women
February 9-15: National Cardiac Rehabilitation Week
