1:24,000 Scale Compressed Topographic Map Images (1998)

These are images of U.S. Geological Survey topographic maps that we received in 1998. The files have not been updated since that time, and many of the maps are more than 30 years old. For the latest USGS topographic map products, please see the USGS TopoView Site .

Click on the map below to pop up links to download a map.  Each image is in Montana State Plane Coordinates (units meters) and covers approximately 36 USGS quadrangles.  The images are in  MrSID compressed format and do not contain spatial reference information.  The pop-up window contains a link to an Esri .aux file containing the spatial reference and link to a world file containing spatial location information that older viewer software may need. You may view MrSID images with most geographic information system software or with the free MrSID GeoViewer Pro software from Extensis.
