Cross-MSDI Relationships
The Climate datasets relate to the following other MSDI framework themes:
Themes used in development:
- Elevation—there is strong relationship between meteorological variables and topography in Montana. Topography is one input that drives the interpolation of meteorological variables between climate stations.
Themes used in summarization:
- Hydrologic Units—serves as a boundary for display and for summarizing climate-related statistics that are meaningful to determining water availability or the condition of the terrestrial landscape.
- Hydrography—contributes water features for relating climate statistics to hydrology.
- Administrative Boundaries/Cadastral—county boundaries serve as a boundary for display and for summarizing climate-related statistics that are meaningful to local government.
Themes used in interpretation:
- Land Use / Land Cover—used in analysis to partition a climate analysis, and make interpretations of terrestrial impacts.
- Soils—used in analysis to partition a climate analysis, and make interpretations of terrestrial impacts.
- Geology—used in analysis to partition a climate analysis, and make interpretations of terrestrial impacts.
